Australian Central Desert | Cambodia
I think my biggest highlight of Catherine’s Yuendumu trip was to see Australia in a new light. I am a city girl but have travelled the world yet never travelled in this fashion before and seen the real deep Australia. It made me feel more connected with where I live and I now have a sense of the real struggle of indigenous Australians. But through the struggle the raw beauty in art and nature shone through. I didn’t realise that this trip was going to have such an impact on my mind and heart. It is definitely a bucket list trip.
Understanding a bit more of Aboriginal art through Catherine’s quiet explaining really helped. My five days away on the trip has changed my perception of Aboriginal culture. I still find myself thinking back on moments...And my photos are beautiful! Thank you for taking us out to places based on beauty and light at the time- as well as those out of the way places I would never have found by myself. It was fun, exciting, knowledgeable and I had an amazing experience!
I accompanied Catherine on a week long adventure into Central Australia, she was a knowledgeable and thoughtful host and it was such a privilege to see a beautiful and remote part of Australia that I would never have otherwise seen. On a practical level the food was delicious and catered to all in the group and accommodation was great from outback comfort to pool side luxury.
We were very fortunate to visit Cambodia with Catherine as a guide and organiser. The usual travel stresses were gloriously absent thanks to Catherine’s expert arrangements and careful curation. The bespoke accomodation, tours and restaurants were small, delightful and often stunning. Catherine’s local knowledge not only ensured everything ran smoothly but also allowed us to see and do things that most visitors don’t. Our trip could not have been better.
What a fabulous time we had. Huge gratitude for managing the arrangements so beautifully. It was truly memorable and mind expanding. A great mix of hand-picked hotels, art, history and food experiences and there there were the cocktails and massages. All aspects way surpassed expectations. The group of lucky travellers got on so well and enjoyed mixing and sharing. There were many highlights but lasting memories of Catherine’s personal stories, when things were quite different, are on top of the list. Her insights added great colour to our understanding of this complex and fascinating country.
I had travelled to Siem Reap before going with Catherine of Florence Zenith Tours but knew seeing Cambodia with her was an opportunity not to miss. I loved my first trip, was eager to see and learn more, and thought I had ‘done’ the temples of Angkor – but I was WRONG. Catherine expertly curated our days, taking us off the beaten tracks to superb archaeological sites and moving counter to the crowds. Her art history background and hearing from wonderful local experts made it very special way to experience this incredible place. She has a breadth of knowledge to tap into and got the information amount and content just right, so we moved through the temples at an enjoyable pace without feeling overloaded by facts. We were shown hidden gems and given local experiences that one simply wouldn’t know about without deep local connections. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough!
